Dr. Barth was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) by three of the country's leading insomnia researchers and clinicians, Dr. Donn Posner, Dr. Gregg Jacobs, and Dr. Michael Perlis. He uses cutting-edge, evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including CBT-I, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to treat insomnia, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders.
Dr. Barth has thirty-five years of clinical experience. He was clinical director of Addiction Medicine at the Martinez Veterans Hospital and at Kaiser Permanente in Hayward, California. He has lectured on CBT-I to Physicians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Social Workers in hospitals and clinics throughout the Bay Area.
